Privacy Policy
This policy explains how SellInSales processes personal data through sellinsales.com, its seller marketplace and the SellInSales mobile application.
1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data?
SellInSales is the controller for the processing described in this policy. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to support@sellinsales.com.
This policy applies to the SellInSales website and the Android application identified by package name com.sellinsales.marketplace.
2. Data We Process
Website and app use
- IP address and basic request information in security and hosting logs
- Search terms sent to our catalog service
- Anonymous product-view and share counts when analytics consent is granted
- Session cookies needed for security, sign-in and duplicate-event prevention
Questions and inquiries
- Name and email address
- The message, conversation and page related to the inquiry
- Product, order or marketplace-listing references you provide
Seller accounts
- Email address, display name, seller type and password hash
- Shop name, city, account status and login timestamps
- Listing descriptions, condition details, prices and product photos
- Buyer inquiries sent in relation to an approved listing
Mobile application
- Catalog searches and API requests needed to show products
- The current public app does not provide account creation or checkout
- The current public app does not contain an advertising or analytics SDK
- Selected photos will only be processed if a seller-upload feature is enabled and you choose photos
Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, identity documents or other sensitive information through general inquiry forms.
3. Why We Use Personal Data
- To provide product search, marketplace listings and requested services.
- To create and secure seller accounts and review seller listings before publication.
- To respond to questions, complaints, safety reports and deletion requests.
- To prevent abuse, investigate errors and protect the service.
- To meet accounting, consumer-protection and other legal obligations.
- To measure anonymous product activity when consent is required and granted.
Depending on the situation, processing is based on performance of a contract or steps requested before a contract, compliance with law, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or your consent.
4. Sharing and International Processing
We do not sell personal data. We may use hosting, database, email, security and technical-service providers that process data on our behalf. A marketplace seller receives a buyer's contact details and message when the buyer chooses to send an inquiry about that seller's listing.
Data may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a properly managed business transaction. When a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, we use an applicable legal transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards.
5. Retention
- Seller account and listing data is kept while the account is active and then deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.
- Support, marketplace and privacy requests are normally retained for up to 24 months after resolution.
- Security and hosting logs are kept only for the period needed for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
- Records required for accounting, disputes, product safety or legal compliance may be retained for the applicable statutory period.
A deletion request removes data that is no longer necessary. Some records may be restricted rather than erased where continued retention is legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Submit an account or data request through the Data & Account Deletion page. We may ask you to verify control of the relevant email address before acting on a request.
You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY) or another competent supervisory authority.
7. Security, Children and Changes
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls and restricted administrative tools. No online system is completely risk-free, so please use a unique password and notify us if you suspect misuse.
SellInSales is a general commercial marketplace intended for adults. It is not directed to children. We will update this page when our services or processing practices materially change.
